Most man made polypropylene carpets are suitable for pets as they are easy to clean and very durable. However, loop piles are not recommended as your pets claws can easily get caught resulting in damage to your carpet and possibly your pets claws.

Carpets tog ratings can range between 0.7 and 3 togs, the higher the rating the more insulation your carpet will provide. However, if you have underfloor heating a lower tog rating will allow more heat to pass.

Luxury Vinyl beautifully simulates the look of hard flooring such as wood, ceramic tile and stone, It is easy to clean and perfect for high traffic areas or areas where shoes may be worn, and it can be particularly useful when a room doesn’t have a hallway to divide it from the garden. Furthermore, it is 100% waterproof making it the perfect choice for hallways, kitchen, dining rooms, bathrooms and utility areas. It is warm underfoot and incredibly hardwearing.

We recommend a PU foam underlay as it gives great cushioning, insulation and exceptional comfort underfoot, whilst usually providing a lasting longevity of 25 years or more.  This type of underlay comes in a range of different thicknesses however we recommend 10mm thickness for most purposes.

Because certain types of underlay can last for years we will asses your current underlay and dependant on the condition it may be possible to keep it if we feel that it could last the duration of your new carpets.

Whilst most wool mix carpets are perfect for stairs due to their durability and resilience to flattening, man made polypropylenes and nylon are also a natural choice. Furthermore,  it is advisable to stay away from long piled carpets due to flattening and safety the perfect choice would be a shorter high density pile.

Getting the right carpet is such an important decision and it is not as simple as selecting a colour, different types of carpets reflect light differently dependant on the material and density of the fibres, therefore, rather than making your decision with a small sample provided by a superstore we can bring a large selection of large area samples to your chosen room so that with our expert on hand you can make the best decision with your natural and artificial lighting. we will also be happy to provide you with some samples of your choices.

We will always ask for a room to be cleared. However, where this is not possible items such as wardrobes and sofas can be left in the room, we will ask that wardrobes and heavy chests of draws are always emptied. If there is a substantial quantity of items to be moved further charges may be added.

We recommend 1-2 weeks is allowed for the paint to cure properly before laying carpets.

If your doors are too tight to your carpet overtime this will damage the pile, we always recommend trimming the bottom of the door when needed, we can provide this service at £15 per door, if however you do not wish us to do this we can leave the door off for you to arrange trimming.

Subfloor preparation will extend the life of your new flooring, it involves making sure that the floor underneath your new flooring is clean and level for example this may involve a process called latex screeding.
